Red Swamp Unleashes Acclaimed New Album “Peace and Hate” Featuring IMS Budapest Vocal Teacher Greg Kovács

Hungarian groove-metal powerhouse Red Swamp has returned with its most ambitious and dynamic release to date. The band's fourth full-length album, Peace and Hate, is out now, marking a significant new chapter in the evolution of one of Hungary's most respected heavy acts. Blending crushing riffs, progressive songwriting, and a broader vocal palette than ever before, the record showcases a band unafraid to push beyond its established sound while remaining true to its roots.

Since forming in Budapest in 2015, Red Swamp has built a reputation for its unique blend of stoner, sludge, groove, and modern metal influences. The band earned widespread recognition through acclaimed releases such as Tiszassippi, Desertdrive, and Time to Die, while also securing a place on the international stage through performances alongside acts including Clutch, 1000Mods, Stoned Jesus, and Planet of Zeus. Their victory in the Hungarian Wacken Metal Battle ultimately led to an appearance at the legendary Wacken Open Air festival in Germany.

At the center of Red Swamp's sound is vocalist Greg Kovács, who is also a vocal teacher at IMS Budapest. Known for his powerful stage presence and versatile vocal approach, Kovács has become one of the most recognizable voices in the Hungarian underground metal scene. His ability to move effortlessly between melodic passages, gritty cleans, and aggressive harsh vocals is a defining feature of Peace and Hate, elevating the album's emotional impact and musical diversity.

The new album represents a notable progression for the band. While Red Swamp has often been associated with stoner and sludge metal, Peace and Hate embraces a more modern and progressive direction, incorporating complex song structures, layered arrangements, and expanded vocal textures. The result is a collection of songs that feels both heavier and more sophisticated than anything the band has previously released. Critics and fans alike have praised the record's willingness to experiment while maintaining the massive grooves and memorable hooks that have become Red Swamp trademarks.

The album features eight tracks, including fan-favorite singles such as “Born To Bleed,” “I Am The Sun,” “Nothingman,” and the Hungarian-language track “Utolér.” Together, these songs demonstrate the band's expanded creative vision and willingness to explore new lyrical and musical territory. The record balances introspective themes with crushing heaviness, creating an experience that rewards repeated listening.

For students at IMS Budapest, Greg Kovács's continued success with Red Swamp offers a powerful example of artistic growth and professional musicianship. As both a performer and educator, he brings real-world experience from recording, songwriting, touring, and music video production directly into the classroom, helping aspiring vocalists develop both their technical skills and creative identity.

With Peace and Hate, Red Swamp has delivered one of the strongest Hungarian metal releases of the year. The album captures a band at the height of its creative powers, combining raw energy, modern songwriting, and exceptional performances into a compelling statement of intent. For fans of groove metal, sludge, progressive heavy music, and powerful vocal performances, Peace and Hate is an essential listen and another major achievement for Greg Kovács and Red Swamp.
